What an affiliate relationship means

An affiliate link can allow a publication to earn a commission after a visitor follows the link and completes a qualifying purchase. The visitor’s price is ordinarily unchanged unless a page clearly states otherwise. An affiliate relationship is commercial; it is not evidence that a resource is religiously authoritative.

How links will be labeled

If affiliate links are introduced, a clear disclosure will appear before or near the relevant recommendation. Links will not be hidden behind a neutral-looking citation or mixed into a source list without notice. A page will distinguish bibliographic citation, editorial resource recommendation, external retailer link, and paid or sponsored relationship.

Editorial criteria come first

Books and study resources will be considered for purpose, author or translator, publisher, audience, readability, source text, commentary perspective, copyright status, and tradition-specific context. Commission rate, retailer preference, popularity, or availability will not make a book the “best” or “official” Hindu resource.

Scripture and translation recommendations

There is no universally best English Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Ramayana, or Mahabharata edition. Translation and commentary make interpretive choices. A future comparison may explain why an edition is useful for language study, devotional reading, literary access, classroom use, or a named tradition. It will not present one purchase as a religious requirement.

Sacred items and festivals

Sacred objects will not be reduced to aggressive product placement. A page explaining a diya, murti, mala, rudraksha, yantra, or ritual item should first provide religious and cultural context. Future resource links must not imply that buying an object creates spiritual status or guarantees an outcome.

Children and families

Direct child lessons will not contain affiliate cards, buy buttons, scarcity messages, or manipulative purchase prompts. Adult family and educator resources may later identify books or printable materials only with clear disclosure and without making a product necessary for a child to belong or complete a lesson.

Current status and corrections

No affiliate program, affiliate identifier, sponsored recommendation, price, star rating, or purchase button is active. If a future disclosure or link is missing or misleading, readers can report it through the Corrections page.
